Earlier this month we had 40+ centimetres of snow in the village. This is very unusual for Brittany and we were unable to leave the village for ten days. During this enforced seige I decided to take photographs of the beautiful white landscape.
Luckily the freezers were full and being a hoarder I always have plenty of storecupboard food, so I was never going to starve.
These huge icicles on a neighbour's house are up to 45cm long.
This was ice on my window, the patterns and light changing
all the time as it melted and slipped.
Winter Light
All so wonderful. Winter does have some hidden beauty, sometimes we just need to adjust our attitude to see it. We are gettting a heavy storm right now and although it is so pretty, my back hurts from shoveling.
ReplyDeleteYour photos of the deep snow are so peaceful and beautiful. I like how the shovel and the pup in the picture above illustrate just how deep the snow is. I really like the shapes and light in your ice on the window.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful views of the village and the snow. Interesting vshot of the light in the ice. Good luck with the contest:)
ReplyDeleteNice eye for a photo. I like the closeup detail.
